Baby Brenner's Baby Shower

So my sister Kim finally had her little baby boy.
Brenner Jordan Martin

He is so little and so cute and I am positive he just needs me to cuddle him all day!
So of course we had to throw Kim a baby shower.

I made chocolate chip cookie thank  you's for everyone that came to take home with them. While I was doing this Paytin and Rylee were there and this is the kind of help they were!

Here are the decorations

Of course we had to have delicious chocolate fountain!

Paytin's Preschool Graduation!!!

So Paytin is now officially graduated from Preschool!

On Thursday we attended Paytin's preschool Graduation.
I can hardly believe that I have a daughter going into Kindergarten already!
Her class sang us some of the songs they learned throughout the year, showed us as slide show of the different events they did and then got called up one by one to get their diploma's.

Here is Paytin all ready for her Graduation! She insisted on wearing
a dress (of course!)

These are the little treats she gave all of her Teachers.
She also gave them a board with a cute saying
about Teachers to hang up in the classroom.

Here she is singing us her songs they learned

Paytin receiving her diploma and scrapbook.
The scrapbook was really cute. Her teachers had put pictures
of her and crafts she had made throughout the year in the book and
gave it to her at Graduation to keep as a memory.

I am all too concerned that sooner rather than later I will be posting her HighSchool Graduation photos!!

Emily's Baptism

So I guess that I have been slacking in the blog area for a while because I have a lot to catch up on.
Last Saturday we drove down to Lethbridge for Brock's sisters little girls baptism. It was nice to see family and catch up.
Brock and I decided that it would be easier to just drive home that night after the baptism instead of packing everything for ourselves and two kids to stay overnight (which can be a lot). So at about 9pm we headed home. Well we then learned that it would have been WAY easier and cheaper to stay over night!
It was pitch black outside so we didn't see the dead deer laying in the middle of the road, or the spare tire that the dead deer had obviously knocked off someone else's vehicle.
We hit the deer then the tire which blew the two tires on the entire drivers side of our van! Great, now we were stuck on the side of the highway at 11pm at night with two kids in the van and two flat tires!
I called my Mom to come rescue us! She also tried to call a tow truck for us but after 2 hours on hold we finally gave up. So Brock and my brother Jared decided that they would just put the spare tire from our van and the spare tire from my moms van on our vehicle and drive it home, which I guess would have been a good idea if the spare off of my moms van would have fit our van!
It was so dark that I was scared the guys were going to get killed on the side of the road because no one could see them so I called the cops and asked them if they could come sit behind us on the road with their lights flashing so that people would see us. So sure enough a cop came out and decided that he would fill out the paper work while he waited. That was when I realized, thanks to the cop pointing it out, that the insurance card in my van was expired!! Luckily he was a nice cop and didn't write us a ticket!
2 1/2 hours later Brock and Jared got one spare on at which point we all had to drive back to Airdrie, borrow the spare tire off of my sisters van (because she has the same van as us), and drive 45 min back to put it on our van. Brock and Jared then just dropped the van off at the closest Costco to get the tires fixed and didn't get home until somewhere around 4 am! Like I said it would have been much easier to stay the night in Lethbridge.  So $460 for two new tires and $406 at the Dodge dealership (to make sure nothing else was ripped out of the bottom of our van), later we are all fixed up.
What an Adventure!

Anyway, here is a little scripture case I made Emily

And here is a cute little cake I took along for the dessert bar after the baptism

Yummy!
